These are sparkly, and fashionable, without the risk of lost jewels. While I did think they would have the crystals (the reason for only 4 instead of 5), they've turned out pretty nice. They don't sparkle as much indoors because they count on brighter light making contact. Outside, they're beautiful.The frames are the harder plastic kind. They don't give. I'd suggest keeping them in the cloth bag they come with and put them in a hard sunglass case. I had a pair previously that were broken by tossing them into my purse when I went indoors. The temples and hinges cannot take pressure or impact.The darkness of the lenses is sufficient. I have blue eyes and tend to be sensitive to bright light. On a very sunny day, I usually have to wear dark glasses. Fortunately, with the larger sized lenses, my eyes are better protected from rays sneaking in the sides or top, thus the lighter lenses aren't a problem.
